The study of HIV and AIDS is a consequence of Gender Based Vio lence (GBV) is thought about as a result of new cases of HIV and AIDS infections being reported in different health facilities in Uganda. This literature survey focuses on Uganda with an attempt to establish if GBV could be a factor to the incidence. The k ey findings indicate that GBV is a contributory factor to the HIV AND AIDS prevalence not only in Uganda. It is noted that a number of studies do not consider this element and instead cite other factors like alcoholism, poverty, limited supplies of HIV AND AIDS preventive methods namely abstinence, faithfulness, use of condoms and male circumcision as factors for the prevalence of HIV AND AIDS in the country. It is inferred that one of the key consequences of GBV is HIV and AIDS among households. It is reco mmended that key stakeholders should put more energies to preventing GBV and hence the incidence of HIV AND AIDS through accelerated sensitization of the masses on GBV and HIV AND AIDS as well as ensuring that the existing legislation against GBV are fully implemented so that the potential abusers are reprimanded.en_US
